ENTROPY'S GARDEN

Inspired by a three year practice of writing letters to Black queer trans icon Marsha P. Johnson and Black queer composer Julius Eastman's improvised work, mayfield performed Entropy's Garden as a danced ancestral soliloquy and companion piece to Viewing Hours -an installation where mayfield's body was buried under dirt, compost and decomposing flowers for two hours.

Performed by mayfield brooks at The Kitchen in NYC on 4/6/2019 as part of Dance and Process.
